Far be it from me to criticise a YouTube video. I’ve never done one myself and, I am sure, I would be no good at it. But this doesn’t stop people plunging in at the deep end with their nose held tightly shut. I’m grateful to Leicaphilia for bringing this gem to our attention. Is this the lens we all know and love?
Perhaps I should have a go after all…..
Yes Mike, I don’t expect that making video would be my long suit either… I found it hard enough to run a written blog, apart from the lack of readers, the lack of things for people to read came higher. Each to his own I suppose….
I seem to remember though that the video blogger in this video is one that featured in one of the blogs that I haunt sometime during the last year or so…

Wherever I saw it, the person that posted it felt it to be a good contribution. But here is the thing… You will see at the bottom of the video that donations are gratefully received and lobbied for.
Perhaps somebody donated a ticket instead?
Away you go, Mike. You Tube is full of this kind of nonsense, so called ‘reviews’ and unboxing etc. Now English is, obviously ,not this chap’s first language and what he is saying sounds like ‘gobbledy-gook’, but at least he had a try. He is a beefy looking lad and he obviously had a ‘videographer’ companion, so I would not worry about someone stealing his Leica/lens combo.
The best part of this is the slow motion bit at the end where the passengers coming off the train give him some wonderful looks. Far better than the nonsense about the lens.
William
I knew I had seen this man somewhere….
And I was pretty sure it was on this blog, but I could very easily be wrong….
Anyway he is called Oz Yilmaz http://ozyilmaz.ca/about/ I reckon that he speaks fluent Canadian…
Perhaps my assumption was wrong, perhaps not. Maybe, he was just being ‘poetic’, but some script writing might make his review videos a bit more intelligible to English speaking viewers.
William
Creative types can sometimes be a bit whacky William, perhaps he was just having a bad day, or as I suggest above, maybe someone gave him a train ticket.
And it was here that I saw the earlier video, the link has broken… but that was quite a nice little film if a little odd in places.

What a doozy. And how about him walking around on the Montreal metro with the camera and that lens without any kind of strap. I was expecting him to drop the expensive combo. Which begs the question did he own the camera and lens or did he persuade some innocent Leica dealer to loan them to him?
