The “super blue blood moon” has been creating a stir, particularly in Asia and Austalasia. Not much to see in London, even if the skies weren’t overcast, so I sent our Melbourne correspondent, Jason Hannigan, out into the wild with his brand new Panasonic Lumix G9. This is the very creditable result — a “heavy, heavy crop” from this micro four-thirds image, as Jason tells me. At least we managed an image and I think it looks fine, despite the crop. Next week Jason will be telling us just why he decided to buy the latest Panasonic super-fast stills camera.

The super moon was amazing over Kent, I went out for a nice chilly night walk, and will report back on what I saw through the screen of my X.
Good job done there. Clouds here in Canada as well.

No luck for me .Same clouds. Murphy’s Law on full display after so many cloudless nights.
Well done Jason. A tough test for a new camera. Here many hundred kilometres north on central coast of NSW we had heavy cloud cover so no attempt possible (not sure whether John S had any success). Looking forward to your G9 report.
