Old Leica lookalike, self-assembly necessary

Here’s another gem we’ve missed while on our Summer break. The Paper Shoot old Lomo paper camera is on sale at B&H in the USA. You can now put away the matchsticks and that model of HMS Victory you’ve been fettling for the past ten years and turn your attention to a DIY camera, something much nearer to the photographer’s heart.

According to B&H, this 13MP Leica-look automatic point-and-shoot camera is inspired by the design of vintage Lomo models. You can assemble it yourself, including adding the sensor and the “Largan Precision” lens, which is said to ensure sharp and detailed photographs.

Hours of fun for $120

Powered by two AAA batteries, the Paper Shoot manages stills and videos, supports Wi-Fi SD and SDHC memory cards and even includes a micro-USB port for image transfer. The black version is on sale at B&H for $120.

All this leaves me with a few more questions than answers, but it could be worth a punt if you are one of those people who absolutely love wresting with an IKEA flat-pack cupboard.

  1. One thing that puzzles me is B+H would not be stocking this if there were no buyers. Who are they? You know you are getting old when you do not understand the world at all. I understand smartphone photography. Oh, I get it, some people do not realize their smartphone can take pictures.

    • Thank you for stopping me saying something distinctly similar but with expletives.

But it would be helpful if we can see one in action.😂
