What’s the most popular make of photo bag among Macfilos readers? I’d guess it is probably Billingham, an English company that produces a bewildering range of models in two primary materials and in a plethora of colours.
Many of you will be well aware of the difficulty when choosing which bag is best for your purposes. And this choice just got harder.
Billingham has announced a yet a new colour scheme for those who prefer the slightly lighter FibreNyte material over the more traditional canvas. Many Billingham bags have been offered in the past in sage-coloured FibreNyte with brown-leather trim.
Now, in response to popular demand the same products can be supplied with black-leather trim instead of brown.

The new colourway is available on the following products: 72, Hadley Digital, Hadley Small, Hadley Small Pro, Hadley Pro, Hadley Pro 2020, Mini Eventer, Eventer MkII, and AVEA end pockets.
You can find more information on Billingham’s site here.
Bags are another GAS problem. I was a FOGG dealer when I had my store and have remained friends with bee and Nigel over the years. I don’t even want to admit to how many FOGG bags I own! As a Leica dealer, I was also a Billingham dealer. They make excellent bags, and have an incredible variety and selection. Then I discovered Brady bags from my good friend Tom Abrahamsson. Billingham actually worked for Brady before he went off on his own. You could almost call Brady the Ur-Billingham. Of course I have a couple of Bradys as well. I especially like the Ariel Trout Small. Billingham has done a much better jog marketing their bags to photographers.
Hello, my name is Bill, and I have a bag problem!
I think I’d better join your circle… I think we did features in both FOGG and Brady in the past (must check). As you imply, Billingham gets the attention because of good marketing and effective distribution. See you in Dublin! Mike.
