A rising British pound in the wake of last week's election will be good news for importers of photographic equipment and will benefit dealers, not just those selling new cameras but also specialists in classic equipment.
As from October 1 most Leica lenses and accessories have risen in price by between 1.5 and 4.4 percent. Bodies, with the exception of the Q2 and D-Lux, are unaffected.
German dealers are telling customers that the back-ordered Leica Q2 will go up by €200 on September 1. No news on the UK situation but the falling sterling could soon cause further problems.
