Later today, according to reports, Microsoft will announce Office for iPad. Time was when I would have found this exciting. Yet in the ten years since I moved from PCs to Macs I have learned to live without Word, Excel and, above all, Outlook which I always hated. I can understand that the Microsoft suite will be welcomed by owners of iOS devices who have to work in a Windows environment during the week. I can even understand that Microsoft is worried by the incursions of the iPad (in particular) in to the corporate world which Redmond has dominated for the past quarter of a century. For me, though, this announcement comes far too late.
