The Leica M Monochrom, resolutely black and relatively featureless up to now, is going mad for colour. This most discreet of shooters is joining the à la carte programme and will be able to take advantage of the full range of bespoke options—including, for the first time, the possibility of a silver chrome top and bottom plate. Black chrome and black paint are also on the list.
The programme brings an array of engravings, including a personal touch, and offers the choice of adding a Leica red dot for the first time.
To choose a custom camera visit the configurator at the Leica UK web site. In the meantime, to whet your appetite, I paid a personal visit and totted up most of the available options, resulting in a price tag of £6,065. A snip if you want to make this black-and-white camera your very own.
