Hard-wearing professional photographic bag provides outstanding protection for compact system cameras
Billingham has introduced a Grey Canvas/Black Leather option to its Hadley Small Pro range, following requests from customers around the world. This smart new colour combination will be available while stocks last, with pre-orders starting today, 20 February, at this pre-sale link. A limited number of the bags will be on sale at The Photography Show from Wex Photo Video (stands B122 & C120, NEC Birmingham, 14-17 March), and general sale will begin on 27 March from authorised Billingham stockists across the UK.
The Hadley Small Pro provides exceptional protection for small mirrorless system cameras, rangefinders and mid-sized DSLRs. Precision-engineered at Billingham’s manufacturing facility in the West Midlands, this premium bag is rugged, weather-resistant yet extremely compact and light, making it perfect for travelling, or for carrying smaller equipment on location shoots or daily photographic work.

As with all Billingham products, the Hadley Small Pro is made in England and crafted from the company’s highly durable Canvas or colour-fast FibreNyte material. These hard-wearing textiles are bonded to Stormblock material: two layers of fabric fused with butyl rubber for ultimate weather resistance. Due to its special composition, Stormblock never requires ‘reproofing’, remaining water-resistant for its entire life.
An upgrade on the popular Hadley Small, the bag offers a number of features to appeal to professional photographers. A strong, padded, leather-reinforced handle on the top cover provides extra comfort and a secure grip. The adjustable, shuttle woven polyester shoulder strap is detachable, transforming the Hadley Small Pro into a stylish, compact messenger bag when removed, ideal for photographers wishing to use it as carry-on luggage.
A handy rear pocket, featuring a water-repellent zip for protection against adverse conditions, allows owners to stow important documents such as passports or tickets for quick and easy access when on the move. The durable rear luggage strap enables the bag to be conveniently retained on a trolley suitcase handle for fuss-free transportation.
The Hadley Small Pro’s premium quality fittings and buckles have been manufactured from solid brass, while the trims and straps are made from the finest full-grain leather. I confess to being one of the unwashed masses. Pray tell, what is the difference between ‘canvas’ and ‘FibreNyte’? Is one ‘better’ than the other? Marketing blather?

Well I am no expert but canvas is canvas, the traditional material, while FibreNyte is a synthetic material which is slightly lighter and has a moderate sheen. It is said to be a little more durable long term. Both materials have a waterproof membrane. I’ve tried both and sometimes it’s difficult to tell the difference. It’s one of those things that you have to see and feel. I have examples of both and I ein can’t really say that one is better than the other.

That’s the same colour as my Hadley small, the best camera bag I’ve ever owned.
It wears well, and looks classy but is also discreet when you are out and about. Mine can carry two cameras too.
A gorgeous elegant bag suitable for even black tie affairs and weddings. And a comfortable black neoprene shoulder strap will look great on it after the expensive uncomfortable Billingham strap is burned in the fireplace while sipping on a Guinness or fine glass of red wine.
