I'm grateful to Gizmodo for an Android story I wouldn't have normally happened upon. It concerns a new app for Android phones called Skiver. Gizmodo had to explain the provenance of this good old British word, but anyone on this side of the Atlantic needs no such advice. The Skiver app is a ready-made toolkit for bamboozling the boss and creating a cast-iron cover story for a few days off. Just dial in the number of days you want off, choose from a list of chronic complaints (such as the featured "Chronic Fatigue Syndrome") and you are presented with a neat list of symptoms that should keep any HR department happy.
