iPad Air sales start in UK: Supplies adequate

My little helpers were out at 8.30 this morning in front of the Trafford Centre Apple Store in Manchester. They report a moderate queue and no sign of Apple staff counting numbers. This indicates that supplies are not over restricted and it looks like most early birds will leave happy from Apple Stores around the country. By unhappy coincidence I find myself in a Athens this morning, one of the few European capitals with no Apple Store. I shall have to content myself with viewing some ancient tablets at the new Acropolis Museum.

Update 9.01: Silver Air and black leather cover secured. Accord to my reporter, the Blueshirt said this was “the quietest launch ever.” Don’t know what to make of this after all the hoo-ha of the past week. Incidentally, the new case is “more suede than leather” and is very attractive and light. Must get one of these when I have made up my mind which size of iPad to go for.

For the record, iPad Airs have arrived at Apple authorised resellers in Greece on the morning of launch. I was too pessimistic.
