Leica is introducing a new metallic grey body colour to complement the traditional black and silver finishes. The surface coating has been specially developed at the factory and, according to Leica, it “emphasises the elegant and exclusive appearance of Leica products”. Initially, the new hue will be restricted to three cameras and one lens.
Leica M11-P, metallic grey
The M11-P is the first camera to introduce the new tone to the M-System. Leica says that the subtle metallic grey finish of the full-metal body, combined with the black control elements, enhances the camera’s deliberately understated style. Similarly, the characteristic diamond-patterned leather enhances the camera’s modern look.
Optional new accessories are available to complement the metallic grey body. These include a colour-coordinated battery, protector and carrying strap, with a comfortable shoulder pad crafted from dark-brown leather. There is also a multi-function protector made of smooth black leather, which combine protection with a hand grip to offer greater functionality. The hand grip’s base is compatible with the ARCA-SWISS coupling system that enables the grip to be attached quickly to compatible tripods without the need for additional tools.
Leica APO-Summicron-M 50mm f/2 ASPH, metallic grey
The high-performance Leica APO-Summicron-M 50 f/2 ASPH lens is available in metallic grey to match the M11-P. The lens components and front lens cap boast the new finish, while the engraving on the distance and aperture scales stand out in red. When paired, the camera and lens form a unique combination in this new colour option.
Leica Q3, metallic grey
From 16 July 2026, the Leica Q3 compact full-frame camera will also be available in the metallic-grey colour option, with black control elements producing subtle accents.
The new Leica Q3 in metallic grey also differs from the standard black model in that the distance and aperture scales on the lens feature red engraving. The optional protector and carrying strap crafted from a new dark-brown leather provide an additional opportunity to express personal style.
Leica D-Lux 8, metallic grey
The D-Lux 8 in metallic grey will be available from 16 July 2026. Both the camera body and the FN buttons are finished in metallic grey, and all the other control elements and dials subtly stand out against the black background. New optional accessories add a personal touch.
To complement the existing black leather camera case, a cognac-coloured version has been added to the range. The accessories for the D-Lux 8 are stylish, with a coordinated collection of carrying straps and a wrist strap in braided black leather.
Availability
Leica products in the new colour option, as well as the new equipment, will be available worldwide from Leica Stores, the Leica Online Store and authorised dealers.
