How to get ebooks signed by your favourite author

Every time I read the last rites for the paper book I come up with another snag that could delay the internment and the electronic Will reading. How do you get your ebooks signed by the author? Is it enough to collect monickers on the back of your iPad or Kindle? If you’re a book-store groupie, attending all the latest signings, this could be a real problem. Fortunately, however, someone thought of this before me.
