Above: A bewildering array of focal lengths which can be programmed in as fixed steps instead of the default smooth zoom. The zoom control on the camera moves the lens step by step to simulate using a whole series of prime lenses. As for stability, look at the 400mm and note how it is possible to read clearly the “Offices to Let” sign on the circular building in the centre of the frame. All these shots were done hand held, relying on the excellent in-camera stabilisation system
