Leica Smart Projection GmbH has now expanded its portfolio of premium home cinema projectors. The Leica Cine Play 1, is a versatile mini-projector in what the company describes as a compact, timeless design. It employs state-of-the-art laser technology, said to deliver outstanding Leica premium imaging quality in 4K resolution at up to 300-inch screen sizes.
The Leica Cine Play 1 features innovative triple RGB laser technology, with a service life of over 25,000 hours. Leica claims it projects a particularly bright image with breathtaking colour rendition. Its brightness, of up to 3000 ANSI lumens, enables clear and high contrast movie projection. The projector delivers this even in brightly lit environments.
The projector has a high-performance Leica Summicron zoom lens, manufactured to Leica’s high quality standards. This results in consistently high imaging performance in 4K resolution throughout its zoom range. It is compatible with screen sizes of 65 to 300 inches.
The premium image quality is supported by Leica’s own image processing technology (Leica Image Optimization – LIOTM). This employs special image optimisation algorithms to ensure particularly natural colour rendition. Leica says the system also delivers finely nuanced colour gradation and an outstanding contrast ratio.
Sound system
The Leica Cine Play 1 features 2 x 15-Watt speakers. Leica says these can produce rich bass tones and crystal-clear sound. Its integrated DTS Virtual:X audio-signal processing technology provides the basis for configuration of a true 3D surround-sound system.
Connectivity
In addition to its image quality, the Leica Cine Play 1 has extensive connectivity. It can be connected with preferred equipment and home entertainment systems. Using Apple Airplay, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and several ports (including HDMI, USB and LAN), it enables easy streaming of content from smartphones, laptops and tablets or external drives.
The VIDAA system offers access to many streaming apps, ensuring a seamless visual and movie experience. Leica says its Smart Home integration and voice control contribute to an intuitive operating concept.
Portability
The Leica Cine Play 1 is light and compact. As a result, users can it carry from place to place, setting up almost anywhere without any need for permanent installation. Integrated automatic alignment functions enable problem-free image and focus settings with no need for manual fine-tuning.
According to Leica, owners can enjoy a laid-back movie experience, in Leica picture quality anytime and anywhere, whether in the home or outdoors.
Bauhaus design
The Leica Cine Play 1 tries to combine innovative technologies with enduring design. Inspired by the Bauhaus school, it comprises high-quality materials such as aluminium and glass.
The projector is available with an optional stand, both delivering power, and ensuring an optimal viewing angle.
The Leica Cine Play 1 is available from today in selected Leica Stores and from authorised specialist TV, hi-fi equipment and home cinema dealers. Its recommended retail price is £2,950 / €3,500. The Leica Floor Stand costs an additional £335 / €395.
