9to5Mac finds it strange that the name Lightning can be trademarked and cause Apple, presumably, to pay a load of cash to Harley Davidson for the priviledge of naming the new connector. To me it is entirely logical that Lightning would have been trademarked somewhere. The commercial world is full of ordinary, established words that have been turned into trademarks. Take Apple, for instance. It used to be a fruit.
