Have you been frustrated recently by not being able to enlarge and view Macfilos images as a slideshow in recent articles? If so, we have a solution. We realised there was a problem relating to galleries of images (where several articles are grouped together in a mosaic or stack). For the past three weeks, readers have complained that the function was not working.
We had a major difficulty, not knowing what had caused the failure in displaying Macfilos images. Today, however, by trial and error, we have been able to reinstate the function. Two recent articles were affected:
Leica X Vario: Ten-year-old underdog continues to confound its critics
Travelling Light On Safari with a Panasonic FZ1000: Photographing the Big Five
If you were disappointed with the image-viewing experience in either of these articles, please revisit. Just click on the image after the introductory paragraph and it will enlarge. You can then scroll through all the pictures in the article and see them in full size. You’ll enjoy Wayne Gerlach’s Big Five on Safari, and Jean Perenet’s excellent Leica X Vario photography will be there is all its glory.
This Macfilos images issue, which arose from a malfunctioning update to one of the components on the site, was a particularly difficult one to deal with. But we got there in the end. With luck, it won’t happen again. However, if you do notice any issues, particularly with older articles, please do let us know using the Contact button below.

A cup of coffee works wonders in supporting Macfilos
Did you know that Macfilos is run by a dedicated team of volunteers? We rely on donations to help pay our running costs. And even the cost of a cup of coffee will do wonders for our energy levels.

Brilliant detective work. The Lightbox plugin works for not only the recent articles mentioned above but older articles such as my 2022 East Anglia article.
That’s good news, Chris. I wasn’t keen on the idea of having to go through dozens of articles. Mike
