Panasonic is adding a Lumix Black Titanium S9 edition to the range of options for its compact full-frame camera. In parallel, the company is introducing a new, compact 40mm f/2 L-Mount prime, in matching finish.
Unlike previous special releases, the Lumix S9 Black Titanium Edition will join the standard line up and be widely available across Europe via authorised retailers and Panasonic Direct. It will be available from the beginning of May.

The titanium finish is produced using an advanced, multi-layer coating process, designed to deliver both durability and visual depth. Its uniform metallic surface exhibits high resistance to wear, scratches and environmental factors.
The Lumix S9 is a compact, lightweight (403g) camera, possessing a 24.2 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. It provides real-time AF with phase-detection autofocus. It also features the company’s industry-leading image stabilisation technology, and an articulated rear screen.
Compact prime
The new 40mm lens is compact, lightweight (144g), fast (f/2), and possesses a standard field-of-view. It is similar in size to the Lumix 18-44mm f/4.5-6.3, when collapsed, sharing a common 62mm filter thread.

The lens is dust and splash-resistant, and shows minimum focus breathing. It is available in both Black Titanium and black finish.
Here is a video review of both new camera edition and lens.
The camera will be available from the beginning of May, and the lens from June, for an RRP of £1,299 and £349 respectively. In the Euro zone, prices are €1,499 and €399. VAT included. US prices are not currently available.
